TVE ‘eyes streamlined deal’ for Tokyo 2020 rights

Spanish public broadcaster TVE is not looking to acquire all broadcast rights in the country to next year’s rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympics in a deal with rights-holder Discovery in a bid to save costs, according to reports in Spain.

TVE is ready to invest around €55m ($65.2m) in the rights and production costs, according to El Pais newspaper.
