Social video platform Twitch has extended an agreement to show the ELeague esports event.
The length of the multi-year deal was not disclosed.
Twitch will serve as ELeague’s official streaming service for its live event coverage as the series’ exclusive third-party digital platform.
The deal was struck ahead of the ELeague Major: Boston event, with its final stage taking place tomorrow (Friday).
The ELeague is operated by media company Turner and the IMG agency while Twitch has been a key platform for the increasing popularity of esports.
Craig Barry, Turner Sports’ executive vice-president of production and chief content officer, added: “The strong performance of our live event coverage on Twitch – including record-setting concurrent streams during last year’s inaugural ELeague Major – speaks to why we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue this relationship.”
