Social media website Twitter has linked up with US sports broadcasters Univision and Fox Sports to deliver clips to users featuring coverage of the Copa America Centenario national team football tournament in the US.
The clips will be available through Twitter’s Amplify service.
According to Twitter, it is the largest video distribution and advertising deal to date, the Wall Street Journal newspaper reported.
The highlights, which are posted to Twitter in real time during games, carry six-second pre-roll advertisements from seven different advertisers.
Twitter and its partners are selling the advertising packages together. The advertisers pay Twitter, which then shares a portion of the revenue with Univision and Fox Sports.
