Social media platform Twitter has partnered with sports marketing company Sela Sport to stream live coverage of this year’s Arab Championship, an annual club football competition for teams from Arab nations.
The deal marks Twitter’s first live-streaming partnership for football in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Twitter will provide free worldwide coverage of every match from this year’s Arab Championship, with games to be made available to logged-in and logged-out users.
The matches streamed by Sela Sport will be shown in Arabic and will feature analysis, highlights, interviews, behind-the-scenes coverage and 360-degree content. Matches will also be summarised through Twitter’s Moments feature.
Fans can access the coverage through the event’s official Twitter handle, @UAFACC, and via AC.twitter.com.
“We will also be distributing exclusive complimentary content that will bring fans closer to the action and dramatically enhance their experience,” Ibrahim Mohtaseb, chief business development officer at Sela Sport, said. “This is a start of a long term relationship, where we will work together to introduce never before seen consumption experiences while dramatically increasing the exposure value for sponsors.”
The tournament runs from July 21 to August 5.
