Universal Sports strikes Time Warner Cable partnership

US sports broadcaster Universal Sports Network, a subsidiary of the NBC network, has agreed a multi-year carriage deal with cable-television operator Time Warner Cable.

The agreement will deliver Universal Sports’ exclusive year-round coverage of Olympic and endurance sports programming to TWC’s Sports Pass subscribers.

The deal gives TWC comprehensive TV Everywhere rights, video-on-demand content and Universal Sports Max, a secondary events broadband channel.

Universal Sports Network will be available to TWC Sports Pass subscribers in the majority of Time Warner Cable markets later this summer.
