University of Hawaii changes strategy with IMG partnership

The IMG agency has entered into a 10-year multimedia rights partnership with the University of Hawaii’s athletics department.

IMG will manage and market the media and sponsorship rights associated with the university’s 21 athletics programs.

For the past 15 years, the University of Hawaii athletics department has handled all of its rights operations in-house.

Department director David Matlin said: “IMG has a large national footprint across collegiate athletics that could open the way for new supporters of UH Athletics. In addition, beyond athletics, IMG is a worldwide entertainment company that could also provide other opportunities which would benefit our department.”
