North American sports broadcaster Premium Sports has extended a deal with Ustream to allow the video-sharing platform to show live coverage of the Six Nations international rugby union championship and Ireland’s Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) hurling and Gaelic football National League.
Under the deal, Ustream will continue to show live coverage of the tournaments in the US and Canada.
The length of the agreement was not disclosed, but coverage of the tournaments will run until at least the end of the 2013 events. This year’s edition of the Six Nations will conclude in March, and the 2013 GAA National League will finish in May.
Viewers will be able to access live coverage of individual Six Nations matches for $19.99 (€14.80) or the whole competition for $99.99.
Individual regular-season GAA National League games are available for $14.99, with final matches available for $19.99 and a full season pass available for $69.99.
“Our partnership with Ustream over the last three years for the Six Nations championship and for Gaelic sports has given us the opportunity to connect with a much wider audience and to provide season passes for events,” Premium Sports chief executive Shane O’Rourke said. “Ustream’s innovative viewing platform not only allows fans to watch live matches, but also adds a level of social engagement that brings the entire community together.”
The 2013 Six Nations and National League competitions start tomorrow (Saturday).
