German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF will continue to show the Volleyball Bundesliga, the sport’s top division in the country, under an extended multi-year deal.
The three-year agreement, from 2014-15 to 2016-17, was brokered by SportA, the agency that acquires rights on behalf of ARD and ZDF.
The deal also includes the men’s second-tier division and the top two divisions of women’s volleyball.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
“We reach a huge audience through the coverage of public-service television,” the Bundesliga’s managing director, Klaus-Peter Jung, said. “This deal provides more time to plan ahead for teams, sponsors and broadcasters.”
