Categoría Primera A, the top division of football in Colombia, is set to receive further exposure in the country under a raft of new carriage deals for pay-television channel Win Sports.
Newspaper El Tiempo said that as of July 11, ETB’s broadband subscribers, of which there are more than 500,000 in Colombia, will have access to Win Sports for no additional charge.
Win Sports is jointly owned by pay-television broadcaster DirecTV and commercial broadcaster RCN and launched in November 2012. It holds rights to the Categoría Primera A and knockout club competition the Copa Colombia, along with rights for futsal, athletics and cycling events, among other sports.
Meanwhile, the Portafolio.co website added that the Dimayor, which operates Colombian club football, is in final talks with operators Movistar and Tigo-UNE over a deal that would add an additional 1.5m viewers to the Win Sports user-base.
