World Cup ‘adds 500,000 subscribers’ for beIN Sports France

French pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports is reported to have seen its subscriber base grow from 2.2 million to 2.7 million during the Fifa World Cup in Qatar.

BeIN holds rights in France to every match from the World Cup, 36 of which are on an exclusive basis. Commercial broadcaster TF1 is showing 28 matches, including every France match.
