The upcoming World Para Athletics Championships are set to be broadcast by more rights-holders than ever before, the International Paralympic Committee has revealed.
The IPC said that more than 30 broadcasters have signed up to provide coverage of the event, which gets underway in London tomorrow (Friday) and runs until July 23.
UK commercial broadcaster Channel 4 will screen 30 hours of live action in the host nation. Japanese public-service broadcaster NHK and commercial broadcaster TBS will also show highlights coverage, while in China, state broadcaster CCTV will live-stream all 202 medal events.
Public-service broadcaster France Télévisions will broadcast every evening session live, while highlights coverage will be shown in India by public-service broadcaster Doordarshan.
US network NBC will showcase the Championships through its Team USA channel, while the Australian Paralympic Committee will stream the event on its official website.
In Spain, public-service broadcaster TVE will provide coverage and the Spanish Paralympic Committee will also stream the event online with Spanish commentary.
The event will also receive coverage in Italy via state broadcaster Rai, as well as in Germany (public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF), Brazil (media group Globo) , Austria (public-service broadcaster ORF), New Zealand (public-service broadcaster TVNZ), Denmark (public-service broadcaster DR), Switzerland (public-service broadcaster SRG SSR), Finland (public-service broadcaster YLE), Norway (state broadcaster NRK), Argentina (state broadcaster DeporTV) and Canada (Canadian Paralympic Committee and public-service broadcaster CBC).
The International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Channel will also cover the event.
