World Series TV ratings hit record low

Major League Baseball’s 2020 World Series, a six-game triumph for the Los Angeles Dodgers, ended with the event’s lowest-ever television ratings in the United States.

The World Series on Fox Sports finished with an average TV audience of 9.785 million viewers, a figure that is down 22 per cent from the prior low, the average of 12.6 million viewers for San Francisco’s four-game sweep over Detroit in 2012. The 2020 figure also trails viewership for last year's seven-game World Series matchup between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros by 30 per cent.
