WorldSBK extends rights deal with Australian partner

Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports has secured an extension to its exclusive rights deal for the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) motorcycling series.

The agreement, which was struck with the series’ commercial rights holder Dorna WSBK, will cover the 2016 WorldSBK season.

Fox Sports will show every race and Superpole session of this season’s WorldSBK. The broadcaster will also provide coverage of the WorldSSP support series. In addition, Fox Sports will promote the series through its website and social media channels.

The 2016 WorldSBK season gets underway tomorrow (Friday) with the Australian Grand Prix at the Phillip Island Circuit near Melbourne.

Dorna WSBK added that Fox Sports’ coverage will be complemented by a new double-length highlights show on public-service broadcaster SBS after every race meeting.
