Over-the-top content provider YuppTV has acquired exclusive digital streaming rights to the 2016 Asia Cup national team cricket tournament across a host of markets.
YuppTV will live stream the tournament, which is switching from its traditional one-day international format to Twenty20 for this year’s edition, to the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. The Asia Cup will also be available to view in Singapore through YuppTV’s mobile application.
“By bagging the exclusive digital media rights for the Asia Cup 2016, we are enabling live, on-the-go access to the tournament for the expat community,” Uday Reddy, founder and chief executive of YuppTV, said. “This partnership will provide them with seamless, real-time access to all the matches and allow viewers to watch their favourite teams in action on their preferred device.”
The Asia Cup takes place in Bangladesh from February 24 to March 6. Sri Lanka is the reigning champion, having defeated Pakistan in the 2014 final.
