German public-service broadcaster ZDF has left French satellite and digital-terrestrial television platform CanalSat.
ZDF was withdrawn from CanalSat yesterday (Tuesday).
ZDF is a major broadcaster of sports properties, including football’s Uefa Champions League European club competition.
In September, Italian media company Mediaset complained to Uefa, football’s European governing body, that ZDF’s coverage of the Champions League was available in the country via pay-television broadcaster Sky Italia.
