The CCTV Sports & Entertainment division of Chinese state-owned broadcaster CCTV has acquired exclusive rights for the 35th America’s Cup ahead of the start of the campaign for the sailing showpiece later this week.

Periscope, the live streaming application of social media website Twitter, has been taken on by sailing’s Volvo Ocean Race, which is providing live streaming via the service during the ongoing 2014-15 event.
