Football: The German football league, the Deutsche Fussball-Liga, agreed a deal with Leo Kirch that guarantees the 36 Bundesliga clubs a minimum of €575m a season for the six years from 2009-10 to 2014-15. Kirch and the DFL will set up a joint-venture company, Sirius, which will produce tailored Bundesliga programming and sell on to media companies. Kirch has guaranteed the DFL €500m a year from domestic audiovisual rights - a 20-per-cent increase on present levels, and €75m-a-year in other revenues, such as international rights and sponsorship revenue.
