Football: ESPN acquired mobile clip rights for the English Premier League in the UK in a three-year deal with the league worth about £15m, from 2010-11 to 2012-13. The rights include: up to eight ‘near-live’ clips per Premier League match, each lasting up to 30 seconds, which can be sent to mobile users while matches are in play; a half-time round-up of all the clips produced in the first half; post-match highlights lasting up to two minutes; round-ups featuring highlights from several matches; and match previews.
