Don’t be misled by the fact that the first big rights deal in the UK after last month’s deals for the Premier League should also involve a hefty uplift. Premiership Rugby is one of the few sports bodies not likely to feel the chill wind of a price squeeze in the UK after its footballing equivalent sucked a lot of life out of the sports-rights ecosystem.
