SportA, the agency that represents German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF, has acquired exclusive rights to the 2016 and 2018 men’s EHF European Handball Championships, which will be held in Poland and Croatia respectively.
As part of the agreement, which was brokered by the European Handball Federation’s marketing and media agency partner Infront Sports & Media, ARD and ZDF have secured all audiovisual rights for the two editions of the tournament.
ARD, ZDF, and regional channels in Germany will broadcast the German national side’s matches live and will also air highlights packages featuring other teams.
Euro 2016 will take place in the cities of Gdansk, Katowice, Wroclaw and Krakow from January 15-31. The 2018 European Championships will be staged in Croatia from January 12-28.
