German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF have extended their rights deal for the Paralympic Games.
The new contract takes in the 2018 winter Paralympic Games, which take place in Pyeongchang, Korea from March 8-18, and the 2020 summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Friedhelm Julius Beucher, president of the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS), said the new deal is recognition of the achievements by German Paralympic athletes and welcomed the increasing commitment to Paralympic sport by ARD and ZDF.
Beucher added: “Here we are still counting on a further increase. With regard to winter sports, that is already very pleasing.”
