The Association of Volleyball Professionals has agreed a streaming rights deal with internet company Amazon.
The Amazon Prime Video service will have worldwide distribution rights, excluding China, to the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, the leading beach volleyball circuit in the US.
The agreement begins with the 2018 AVP Pro Tour season and runs until 2020. Prime Video will deliver coverage of main draw matches from each stop on the Tour.
The men’s and women’s finals will be streamed to viewers outside the US, with one final match per event to be made available to Prime members in the US. Subscribers will also receive on-demand access to completed matches, including all finals, highlights and additional content.
Prime members in more than 200 countries and territories will have access to the content, which will be available through the Prime Video app for TVs, games consoles, set-top boxes and connected devices, including Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV, mobile devices and online.
The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour features players such as Phil Dalhausser, Todd Rogers, Misty May-Treanor, April Ross, Lauren Fendrick, Jake Gibb and Karch Kiraly.
