The B4 Capital agency has acquired international broadcast distribution rights for Lega Serie B, the second tier of football in Italy, for three seasons, from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
Lega Serie B said that it received the offer for the rights from B4 Capital on July 26 and the deal had been approved by l’Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercat, the Italian antitrust authority, on August 8.
“This is great news for Serie B,” Lega Serie B president Andrea Abodi said. “For the first time in its history the overseas rights have been assigned independently from the [top-tier] Serie A, continuing the [Serie B] path of growth and consolidation of a sporting and economic identity… even outside Italy.”
