UK public broadcaster the BBC has acquired rights to earlier rounds of the Women’s FA Cup as well as this season’s She Believes Cup invitational football tournament.
It will show Women’s FA Cup fourth-round, fifth-round and quarter-final ties on its iPlayer digital platform and Red Button on-demand service.
Coverage will begin with the fourth-round tie between Manchester United and Manchester City on Saturday.
The deal with the English Football Association runs for just the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
The BBC already holds rights to both Women’s FA Cup semi-finals and the final and extended that agreement last year to run until 2024-25.
It will also broadcast all three of England’s matches from the SheBelieves Cup on its linear and digital platforms. The tournament, which also comprises the US, Japan and Spain, takes place from March 5-12 in the US.
The BBC has a strong portfolio of women’s football. It holds digital rights to one live Women’s Super League game each round and exclusive rights to the 2021 edition of the Uefa Women’s European Championship.
