UK public-service broadcaster BBC Northern Ireland has agreed a multi-year deal with the Irish Football Association for highlights rights to the domestic league, the Irish FA Premiership, and the Northern Irish national team’s home matches, from 2012-13 onwards.
BBC NI will show domestic league highlights for the next four seasons, from 2012-13 to 2015-16, and highlights of the national team’s home matches for the next two years, covering the 2012-13 to 2013-14 period.
The league highlights – including coverage of at least three of the day’s top games – will be broadcast on Saturday evenings on the Final Score programme, which will also be made available online later that evening. Additionally, an online programme, Final Score 2, will be available from the BBC NI website on Monday, which will include goal highlights from the weekend’s matches.
Live radio rights to the league and national team are included in the deal.
