The Pro Basketball League, the top-tier club competition in Belgium, has agreed a partnership with sports streaming service Fanseat.
The global partnership between Fanseat, the league and its rights-holder, DB Video, is for the 2017-18 season and will grant the platform rights to live stream the entire campaign.
DB Video already holds a partnership with Fanseat for coverage of handball’s BENE-League in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Jean-Maël Gineste, general manager at Fanseat France and UK, said: “The championship is one of the quickest growing ones for basketball in Europe and certainly one that will help our business accelerate its growth in the Benelux region whilst providing an amazing level of live and VOD coverage to all basketball fans in Belgium and around the globe.”
Wim Van De Keere, general manager of the Pro Basketball League, added: “(This deal) allows us furthermore to produce all our content and re-use it for numerous highlight purposes and short video content to be shared on our social media platforms.”
Fanseat is available for a subscription fee of €7.99 ($9.5) per month and is offering a one-month free trial.
