The MP & Silva, IMG and B4 Capital agencies have tabled bids for the international media rights for Serie A, the top division of football in Italy.
Lega Serie A, the governing body of the division, said that the winning bid would be selected at a league assembly on Monday, October 20.
Lega Serie A and its strategic media-rights adviser, the Infront Sports & Media agency, launched the tender process at the end of September, with a deadline of October 15 for bids to be submitted.
The exclusive international package for the three seasons from 2015-16 to 2017-18 includes rights for Serie A and the second-tier Serie B, exploitable in territories outside of Italy.
In the US and Canada, South America, Indonesia and the Middle East and North Africa markets, Lega Serie A will “directly verify” the distribution of Serie A rights.
The two parties previously said that the possible transmission of content via live web coverage would be considered, while Lega Serie A reserves the right to distribute footage on a non-exclusive basis for deferred broadcast, for example through the potential implementation of its own channel on video-sharing platform YouTube.
The commercialisation of all broadcast rights related to all competitions organised by Lega Serie A will be completed by additional tenders covering exclusive packages concerning the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italia and the Primavera youth competitions.
Non-exclusive rights packages for the Italian territory will be launched at a later stage.
