BoxNation misses out on subscribers after system crash

The UK boxing channel BoxNation missed out on signing up about 30,000 new customers due to its subscription service crashing on February 18 in the hours leading up to its coverage of the Dereck Chisora v Vitali Klitschko heavyweight fight, according to the Daily Mail.

The problem is reported to have cost BoxNation about £1 million (€1.18 million/$1.58 million) in lost revenue. New subscribers to BoxNation have to pay £10 per month for a minimum of three months.

The report said that “human error in loading the software” at the MGt PayWizard payment service provider was to blame for the crash, and that BoxNation was in talks with the company to claim compensation.
