UK telecommunications company BT has confirmed that subscribers will be able to access pay-television broadcaster BSkyB’s new Sky Sports 5 channel via BT Vision Plus set-top boxes.
The channel, which will be dedicated to covering European football competitions, launches today (Tuesday).
Sky Sports 5 will be available on channel 524 on BT Vision Plus, and existing BT television customers with both Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 on the Infinity service will be able to access the new channel.
Any new subscribers to the Sky Sports 1 and 2 package on BT television will be able to receive Sky Sports 5 automatically for no extra cost.
However, BT added that existing customers who have Sky Sports 1 and 2 over copper broadband will only start to receive Sky Sports 5 from September 5.
