UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has agreed a deal to show the inaugural edition of the Power8 Sprints rowing event on July 22.
Under the deal with British Rowing, BT Sport will show live coverage of the new event, which will feature crews competing in a knockout tournament through head-to-head clashes.
The UK cities of Bristol, Cambridge, Exeter, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Oxford will be represented by crews at the event.
Crews will race in eights over 350 metres, with each race expected to take about one minute.
BT Sport will show the action from 2.30pm, with the finals of the men’s and women’s competitions set to take place at about 4.40pm.
The coverage will be produced by Sunset+Vine, which renewed a partnership with BT Sport earlier this week through to 2022.
