Commercial and pay-television broadcaster BTV has extended a rights deal in Bulgaria for the Uefa Champions League club football tournament.
The new deal will run for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
The agreement comprises magazine programming plus four editions of the annual Uefa Super Cup between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League, from 2015 to 2018.
The deal includes online and mobile rights and was agreed with the Team Marketing agency on behalf of Uefa, football’s European governing body.
BTV also shares coverage of the Europa League in the current three-year cycle, from 2012-13 to 2014-15, with state broadcaster BNT. The deadline for bids for the next three-year cycle for the Europa League, from 2015-16 to 2017-18, was the same as for the Champions League – May 28 – but no rights have been awarded yet.
