Bundeskartellamt hails “constructive” talks with German football league

Mundt said talks between the two parties had been deliberately started early so that there was time to iron out any problems. He said the issues the Bundeskartellamt was considering include whether there would be any anti-competitive effects of moving back the start-time of the Saturday night free-to-air highlights rights package to later than the current time of 8pm, and whether it should force the league to sell separate packages of rights for pay-television, web television and IPTV, as it did last time.

The Bundeskartellamt is consulting Bundesliga clubs using questionnaires as part of the process.
