Channel 5 will dislodge rival UK commercial broadcaster ITV as the free-to-air rights-holder of the Formula E electric car-racing world championship in the country, according to the Current E website.
The report said that an official announcement is expected imminently.
Channel 5 will show all races live, but the length of the deal has not been disclosed.
ITV has shown the first two seasons of the championship, mostly via its ITV4 digital channel.
