The Combate Americas mixed martial arts series has secured a deal to air events on UFC Fight Pass, the online viewing subscription service operated by the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Combate Americas events will launch on UFC Fight Pass today (Monday), with a stream of the third event on the ‘Road To The Championship’ series. Event cards also include live performances from Latino musical acts.
UFC Fight Pass is available in 178 countries and features coverage of UFC events as well as other MMA series.
Campbell McLaren, founder of Combate Americas, also helped launch the UFC in 1993. Terms of the multi-year deal were not disclosed.
“I think of the UFC sort of as my child,” McLaren told the Associated Press news agency. “I saw they weren't connecting in a real meaningful way with this fight fan base. What's Combate Americas? It's Fighting Americas. Plural.”
