London-based digital media company Copa90 has agreed a strategic partnership with the Pitch International agency.
Copa90 said the partnership also includes a “significant investment”, adding it will extend the opportunity for brand activation for sponsors of major sporting events through its new digital video platform for rightsholders.
Following Copa90’s acquisition of Major League Soccer’s global media platform KickTV in January, the company already enjoys access at matches and events produced by the North American league, which is a significant shareholder in Copa90.
Through the Pitch deal, Copa90 and KickTV will be able to create more unique programming around Pitch-client events, with the goal of bringing major rightsholders and sponsor brands into direct contact with a young fan base.
Thursday’s Brasil World Tour match, which resulted in Brazil defeating France 3-1 in Paris, kicked off the long-term partnership.
Jonathan Rogers, managing director of Pitch International, said: “Our interest in Copa90 was initially sparked by the large, engaged audience they have attracted through a mix of fan-focused video and the unique way they worked with brands like Hyundai, HTC and Adidas to unlock the content that fans were looking for. This is what is unique about the Copa90 proposition.
“Pitch’s investment in Copa90 presents a major strategic opportunity for us, our clients, federations and media partners.”
