Pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport has signed three-time Tour de France winner and double world champion Greg LeMond as a global cycling ambassador.
Under the agreement, LeMond will be on-site to provide expert analysis as Eurosport broadcasts from leading cycling events Paris-Roubaix, the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France.
The American will front an exclusive preview and review show at these races, ‘LeMond on Tour’, that will air alongside race coverage across Eurosport’s 54 European markets.
LeMond will also feature in a new monthly programme, ‘LeMond of Cycling’, which broadcasts its first episode on April 9, previewing and reviewing the Grand Tour races of 2014.
He joins Eurosport’s other global ambassadors working with the broadcaster’s lead sports, such as seven-time Grand Slam tennis champion Mats Wilander, 100m Olympic sprint champion Maurice Greene, triple Olympic swimming champion Pieter van den Hoogenband and reigning world and Masters snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan – the latter having signed with the Eurosport earlier this month.
