DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports-media company Perform, has bolstered its ice hockey content in Germany and Austria by acquiring rights to Russian competition the Kontinental Hockey League.
The two-season deal, brokered by the Lagardère Sports agency, covers the KHL’s 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns but will begin early with coverage of this season’s Gagarin Cup.
DAZN will broadcast the best-of-seven season-ending series between CSKA Moscow and Ak Bars Kazan starting from tomorrow (Saturday).
DAZN already holds rights to North America’s NHL, the Ice Hockey World Championships and the Champions Hockey League.
