Direct-to-consumer sports streaming service DAZN has broadened its content portfolio in Brazil by acquiring exclusive rights to the Süper Lig, the top division of Turkish club football.
The three-season deal will take in the remainder of the 2019-20 season, along with the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns.
DAZN will begin its coverage with tomorrow’s (Friday’s) meeting between Fenerbahçe and Antalyaspor. Digiturk owner BeIN Media Group holds global rights to the league for five seasons, from 2017-18 to 2021-22.
Brazilian players plying their trade in the Turkish top flight include Adriano (Besiktas), Mariano (Galatasaray) and Robinho (Istanbul Başakşehir), who won 100 caps for Brazil.
Other football rights held by DAZN in Brazil include the Copa Sudamericana, Brazil’s Serie C, Ligue 1, MLS and Serie A.
The Süper Lig deal comes just days after DAZN extended an agreement in Brazil for rights to the top-tier EuroLeague basketball competition until the end of the 2022-23 season.
