DAZN adds Liga MX to football offering in Brazil

Direct-to-consumer sports streaming service DAZN has secured its third rights deal in Brazil this week by adding Mexico’s Liga MX to its football portfolio.

The contract commences with the ongoing 2019-20 season and will run through until 2021. DAZN will be able to offer the regular season home matches of América, Toluca, Monterrey, Cruz Azul, Necaxa, Pumas and Puebla, as well as Liga MX’s championship fixtures.

DAZN’s first Liga MX match will be the meeting between Cruz Azul and América tomorrow (Saturday).

Earlier this week, DAZN acquired exclusive rights to the Süper Lig, the top division of Turkish club football, as well as extending an agreement in Brazil for rights to the top-tier EuroLeague basketball competition until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Other football rights held by DAZN in Brazil include the Copa Sudamericana, Brazil’s Serie C, France’s Ligue 1, North America’s Major League Soccer and Italy’s Serie A.
