DAZN Brazil commits to EuroLeague until 2023

Direct-to-consumer sports streaming service DAZN has extended an agreement in Brazil for rights to the top-tier EuroLeague basketball competition until the end of the 2022-23 season.

DAZN entered the Brazilian market in May and the EuroLeague was one of the competitions available on the platform at launch.

Ahead of the start of the new season of the European club tournament tomorrow (Thursday), DAZN has announced that it has secured the rights until the end of the 2022-23 campaign. The subscription streaming platform will provide Portuguese-language coverage of the competition, starting with BC Khimki’s match against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The 2019-20 EuroLeague will feature 18 teams, among them reigning champion CSKA Moscow, as well as the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Panathinaikos.

The deal comes after DAZN last week struck a three-year agreement in Brazil for rights to the domestic Brazilian Basketball League (LNB). The deal names DAZN as the main rights partner of the top-tier NBB club competition and runs until the end of the 2021-22 season.

DAZN also holds rights to the EuroLeague in Spain. Through an agreement with the Euroleague Basketball governing body, DAZN will broadcast the EuroLeague and second-tier EuroCup in Spain until the end of the 2022-23 season.
