DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports media company Perform, has agreed a rights deal with the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
The five-year agreement runs until 2021 and grants DAZN rights to every Canada national team game from Fiba’s leading national team competitions.
The deal covers the 2018 Women’s World Cup, as well as the men’s edition of the tournament in 2019.
The agreement is effective immediately, with DAZN set to broadcast Canada’s 2019 World Cup qualifiers against Bahamas on November 24 and Dominican Republic on November 27.
Further World Cup qualifiers will be shown by DAZN in 2018, along with the men's and women's U17 World Cups.
The agreement was brokered by Fiba Media, the strategic partnership between Fiba and Perform.
DAZN launched in Canada in July.
