DAZN snaps up Major League Baseball rights

DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports media company Perform, has acquired live rights for Major League Baseball games in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

The deal will run for four seasons, from 2017-18 to 2020-21.

DAZN will show live coverage of regular-season, post-season and World Series games, as well as the All-Star contest.

More than 600 games will be available through the platform each season.

DAZN’s coverage will begin this Sunday with coverage of the Arizona Diamondbacks against the San Francisco Giants.

The deal strengthens DAZN’s portfolio of North American sports rights – the platform already has rights to the NFL, NBA and NHL.
