German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF have secured highlights rights to the 2013-14 season of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
The agreement brokered between the Sportsman agency, which is the global marketing partner of the DEL, and SportA, ARD and ZDF’s rights-buying arm, will take effect for the 20th anniversary of the league.
Sportsman said that ARD and ZDF would broadcast highlights of the DEL regular season as well as its playoff rounds.
Servus TV, the broadcaster owned by energy drink brand Red Bull, holds the free-to-air broadcast rights to live DEL games while Sportsman’s Laola.tv website also streams live coverage and highlights of games.
