State-owned television channel Dubai Sports has agreed a deal for the host broadcast rights to cycling’s inaugural Dubai Tour, which will take place from February 5-8 next year.
Tour organisers Dubai Sports Council and the RCS Sport agency said Dubai Sports will broadcast all four stages live, along with analysis and updates in its news shows.
Dubai Sports will broadcast the Tour in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, along with territories in the Middle East and North Africa.
Pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport will cover the event on its pan-European and Asia Pacific network, reaching more than 70 countries. In Italy the Tour will also be broadcast by state broadcaster Rai.
The Dubai Tour will open the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) Asia Tour season. Sixteen teams will compete in the inaugural Tour including the 11 UCI ProTeams, the first three teams classified in the 2013 Asia Tour 2013, the United Arab Emirates national team and the Dubai Sky Dive team.
