The European Broadcasting Union, the consortium of public-service broadcasters, has extended its European rights distribution deal with the International Swimming Federation (Fina) until 2017.
The new agreement includes the 2015 and 2017 Fina World Championships as well as the 2014 and 2016 World Swimming Championships (25m).
The EBU will be the host broadcaster for the 2015 World Championships, which takes place in Kazan, Russia.
The EBU’s previous contract with Fina, from 2010 to 2013, covered the World Championships in 2011 and 2013, and the World Swimming Championships (25m) in 2010 and 2012.
The EBU covers 56 territories in Europe and beyond.
