International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports will launch a pay-per-view offering after agreeing a global partnership with digital football platform Onefootball.
Eleven said the deal with the youth-orientated platform will lead to the creation of the first in-app, pay-per-view live streaming football offer.
UK and Ireland customers can purchase and watch any Spanish LaLiga match carried by Eleven Sports for £2.99 (€3.45/$3.90) in the UK, or €3.49 in Ireland, on a ppv basis via the Onefootball app. A monthly subscription pass for Eleven in the UK costs £4.99, while in Ireland it is €5.99.
LaLiga is currently the only major property shown by Eleven Sports, after the failure to strike carriage deals with the UK’s top operators forced it to hand back parts of its portfolio.
Plans are also in development for the Onefootball PPV option to be rolled out for Eleven’s Serie C coverage in Italy, before the model is launched in other Eleven Sports markets from the 2019-20 season onward.
