OTT service ESPN+ will add a minimum of 600 Ohio Valley Conference events to its portfolio in an extension of its media-rights contract with the collegiate athletic conference.
The deal will increase the amount of exposure the conference will receive, albeit online only. ESPN+ will begin broadcasting OVC events on August 30, with the first of its 36 OVC American football games to be streamed this season.
The OVC men’s basketball championship game will continue to be broadcast on a linear ESPN channel, along with the American football “Game of the Week”.
This month, ESPN has also added rights to Italian Serie A, the English FA Cup and several European football leagues.
A subscription to ESPN+ costs $4.99 a month, or $49.99 per year.
