International sports broadcaster Eurosport has agreed a long-term rights deal for cycling’s returning Deutschland Tour event.
Under the agreement with event organiser Amaury Sport Organisation, Eurosport will provide coverage of the Tour in 60 countries across its European and Asia Pacific footprint.
The Tour will be broadcast on television by Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, as well as being offered via Eurosport Player to mobile and web-based platforms.
The Deutschland Tour returns to the calendar in 2018 following a 10-year absence. This year’s event will run from August 23-26.
ASO has a 10-year agreement in place with the German Cycling Federation (BDR) with the aim of relaunching the Deutschland Tour as a top-tier event.
In March, German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF struck a deal to provide coverage of the Deutschland Tour across all four days for its returning edition later this year.
