Pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport has acquired rights for North America’s Major League Soccer.
The deal, which covers television and digital rights, will run for four years, from 2015 to 2018.
The agreement covers all of Eurosport’s European territories, excluding the UK, where pay-television broadcaster Sky was awarded the exclusive live rights last month.
Eurosport will show live and highlights coverage of the regular-season campaign as well as the MLS all-star game, the play-offs and the MLS Cup.
Up to four matches will be broadcast live each weekend on the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels, including one match live on Sundays at 23.00pm CET and one match live at 01.00am CET on Monday mornings.
Eurosport 2 will also show a 30-minute preview show every Friday evening.
