NBA franchise the Orlando Magic will provide streaming-only coverage of a game for the first time tomorrow (Wednesday) when it takes on the San Antonio Spurs in a pre-season contest.
The Magic will host coverage of the game via the Facebook Live social media platform, and it will not be shown on the franchise’s usual broadcast platforms – the Fox Sports Florida division of the Fox network and the NBA League Pass service.
Coverage of the game will be available to viewers within 75 miles of the Amway Center, which will stage the game, to conform to NBA rules.
The Atlanta Hawks attracted more than one million views for Facebook Live coverage of an open training session, and the Milwaukee Bucks are also set to stream several pre-season games via the Fox Sports Go application and the Bucks.com website.
